NOOR’S STORY
Noor Bizo, a 13-year-old female student, resides in Asker Camp, Nablus. She lives with her family under modest circumstances. Her father works as a laborer, earning a limited income.
Noor’s family faces significant economic challenges, and five of the children in the family already wear glasses due to vision issues.
Noor was diagnosed with myopia (nearsightedness) following a school screening by the SJEHG medical team and was subsequently referred for a comprehensive examination at the St. John Anabta Clinic.
At the Anabta Clinic, Noor underwent a detailed examination including visual acuity testing, cyclorefraction measurement, slit lamp examination, and fundus examination conducted by a doctor. Based on the examination findings, it was recommended that Noor wear corrective glasses to fully correct her vision.
She was advised to return for a follow-up checkup in six months, where further treatment options would be explored if necessary. This will be at the new Nablus Day Hospital.
The SJEHG medical team’s intervention aims to ensure that despite the family’s economic difficulties, Noor receives appropriate and ongoing care for her eye health.
