“”I’m Dr Fouad El-Najjar, a senior staff nurse who has proudly served with St John for 35 years. I was born in the Nuseirat refugee camp in Gaza. I have a bachelor’s degree in nursing, a master’s degree in nursing management, and PhD in nursing science. From helping establish the Gaza clinic in 1992 to supporting patients every day, it’s been a privilege to care for my community through St John’s mission.”

Richard (Rick) Warner joined the team in February 2025 as Senior Grants and Partnerships Officer, where he supports our fundraising programmes and is responsible for developing our relationships with UK grant-giving trusts and foundations. Rick has a background in health research funding and has also held posts in international development and providing support for UK social enterprises. 

Saba joined the team in December 2024 as Fundraising Officer. In her role, she manages relationships with our regular donors and fundraising committees and represents the Hospital at external events. Before joining SJEHG, Saba completed an internship at the Palestinian Mission to the UK. She holds a master’s degree in international relations with International Law from the University of Bristol.

Julia joined SJEHG in October 2024. As Senior PR Officer (Fundraising), she manages the UK Office’s social media and communications channels, delivery of the Annual Report, publication of the Jerusalem Scene magazine, and supports fundraising efforts with online and print content. Prior to joining SJEHG, Julia held a range of journalism and communications roles in the higher education sector.

Hyacinth has worked for SJEHG since 2022 as a finance and administration officer. She has previous experience in the charity sector working in a similar role, contributing to a well-deserved cause.

Harriet is the Executive Head of the UK Office at St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group, a role she has held since October 2023. Prior to joining SJEHG, Harriet was a director of operations in the charity sector, bringing over 10 years of operational and management experience to her role. She is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and operations of the UK office, ensuring alignment with the broader mission of the organisation. Harriet holds a bachelor’s degree in Ancient History from the University of Bristol.

David joined SJEHG in 2009 as Projects Officer, later becoming Head of Development and Grants in 2010, and Director in 2018. He currently oversees Development, Fundraising, Project Management, and Communication. With over 19 years of experience in development and humanitarian work, David specialises in health and cultural heritage, particularly in Palestine. He has supported various initiatives to protect and promote the region’s cultural heritage, focusing on Jerusalem and Gaza. David has also served on multiple local and international organisation boards and is a Chartered member of the Lions Club in Jerusalem. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and a master’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on International Cooperation and Development from Bethlehem University, in partnership with European universities.
