The Guild of St John of jerusalem eye hospital

For nearly a century, the Guild of St John Eye Hospital has been one of our most dedicated supporters here in the UK.
Founded in 1926, as the Ladies’ Linen Guild, it began as a sewing group for the wives of the Order of St John – a way for them to contribute directly to our life-changing work. Since then, it has evolved into a dynamic, UK-wide volunteer fundraising group running events in London, committed to supporting the mission of the St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group.

A Legacy of Generosity and Community

Each year, the Guild organises a vibrant calendar of events to bring our supporters together and raise vital funds for our frontline work. From bridge tournaments and classical concerts to lectures and drinks receptions – there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Funding Frontline Heroes in Gaza

The Guild has supported a wide range of projects, from funding the Matron’s salary and endowing beds in Jerusalem to contributing to the establishment of the new hospital in Nablus. Currently, all proceeds from Guild events go directly towards funding the salaries of our nurses in Gaza – who work tirelessly under some of the most difficult conditions in the world.

Honouring Our Nurses in Gaza

Many of our nurses in Gaza are refugees themselves. They have lived through displacement, loss and hardship – yet remain deeply committed to helping others. Thanks to the Guild and supporters like you, these remarkable individuals can continue to restore sight and bring hope to thousands.
